assignment 1-week 4

I thoroughly enjoyed working on the ELA templates of for both the reading and writing. When i wrote out what my goals for the students are, it made me think how and why I want this to be a goal for them. The way I identified the desired results was by mainly looking at what has to be learned, putting myself in the place of a student and trying to visualize what is most important. The school curriculum will be the guide to what needs to be learned, but it has to be taught by the teacher in a clear and organized way to the class. I want to encourage the students to really think! Think not just to get correct answers but  rather, they should come up with questions that are analytical and takes concepts one step deeper. In reading, they should thoroughly understand the concepts and be able to identify the major characters and themes. When they do think and ask targeted questions, it will encourage them to continue to do so , for they will understand it better and hopefully want to continue learning. I want the students to own the skills of asking targeted questions for their understanding in reading and in writing. The general goal in teaching specifically in reading and writing is that the students should learn and then own their learned skills for life, applying them throughout.  I believe that for a teacher to prepare her lessons using these templates, is a very beneficial thing. It makes her make a though out plan so that she can give over her lessons in the best way possible.
